Tell us about your group

We have been together since the end of 2013. There will be 7 of us in March 2015 - Stephen Davidson, Mike Woolston, Tim Van Hussen, Piotr Mirowski, Stefano Bellucci Sessa, Utku Guder, and Karolina Kriks.

What was the best piece of advice on improvisation you’ve ever been given?

"You are just ordinary people on an ordinary day." It's really helpful to remember this in scenes, even if you're playing something really surreal- it needs to still be real for your character.

What is your favourite improvisation exercise and why?

We love trying new games, and making up our own. The collaborative process of trying and failing and ironing out the bumps is really satisfying.

What’s your pre-show ritual/warm-up?

We like to arrive early and touch base with each other, and get a feel for the stage. We always do a warm-up game called crazy 8's, because it builds up lots of excitement and (slightly manic) energy that we try to carry through into our performance.

Recommend a book on Improvisation

We've enjoyed working from the UCB book immensely! That said, improv is really a learn by doing type of thing. We've all learned loads from working with each other, and playing with as many people as we can from all over the world.

Anything else you’d like to add about your show, your group, improvisation, or the world in general?

We love doing improv! You will leave our show feeling warm and fuzzy and all laughed-out, promise.
